U ovom članku ćemo se baviti upotrebom VPN servisa u ovom trenutku, obzirom da se sam internet promenio. Internet je postao javna mreža gde ne postoji privatnost, gde nas prate reklame i gde se filtriraju određeni sadržaji.
Šta je VPN?
O samom VPN-u smo pisali još 27. sep 2012. godine i tada je VPN imao totalno drugu upotrebu.
Tada je VPN bio sinonim za biznis upotrebu, zaposleni se preko PPTP konekcije kače na VPN Server u firmi od kuće. U narodu je bio popularan Hamchi, za igranje multiplayer igara, ja sam konkretno igrao C&C Generals. Generalno mana VPN-a je overhead – usporenje internet veze u određenom procentu.
Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP) je završio svoje
Sam PPTP je najpopularniji VPN protokol ikada. Njegova najveća prednost je ta što prolazi do servera kroz NAT. Njegova najveća mana je bezbednost, a koliko je bušan govori činjenica da je ovaj protokol izbačen u najnovijim verzijama operativnih sistema iOS i Android. Zamena i kombinacija koja se pokazala dobro i podržana je u novijim verzijama operativnih sistema je L2TP + IPSec.

Kako danas koristimo VPN?
- Promena lokacije
Zbog restrikcije određenih sadržaja po celom svetu, neretko se korisnici opredele za upotrebu VPN-a. Na primer, u Kini nije moguće koristiti popularne društvene mreže i pomoću VPN-a moguće je pristupiti takvim sadržajima. Spotify je najbolji servis za slušanje muzike, ali je nedostupan u Srbiji. Kako biste koristili Spotify, neophodno je da se predstavite serveru sa IP adresom iz SAD, a to upravo može da ponudi VPN.
